Our History
In 2007, the business was purchased by Brian Drad, who changed the name to Big Block Auto. 2013 saw Brian’s vision of a new building and storefront become reality when construction of the current location began.
On November 1st, 2018, Alan and Gail Hiebert took over the business, allowing Brian to enjoy retirement with his wife, Nancy, and his family.

Our Team
Some of our employees have been with the business long term and have transitioned through each previous owner. We value our staff and their dedication to the business and to our customers.
Counter Staff
Ray Seaver
Ray is our most senior employee, and has been with the business since it was Don’s Auto! He has a wealth of knowledge from his time with the company and from his own handyman expertise. He’s a family man who loves spending time with his grandkids, but always makes time to putter away on his projects.
Bailey Hiebert
Growing up in a trucking family, he has naturally picked up a lot of mechanical knowledge along the way. In his free time, Bailey loves spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and racing cars with his Dad. He is always eager to share his knowledge with coworkers and customers.
Phil Cieslar
Phil is a life-long Stonewall resident and quickly fit into the Big Block team. He is passionate about music and likes to travel whenever he can.
Nathan Kirby
Nathan’s background as a red seal mechanic, and his friendly outgoing personality has made the integration to the Big Block team seamless.
Accounting/Cashier
Karyssa Hiebert
Karyssa is a new member to the team. Like Bailey, Karyssa picked up a lot of trucking knowledge from her parents and grandparents. Outside of the family business, she loves horseback riding and rodeo.
Barb Kaminski
Barb is a retired financial advisor, and now holds the role of our “store mom”. She is a huge support to our community, spending countless hours volunteering and giving her love to family, friends, strangers, and animals alike.
KC Ursel
Outside her time at Big Block Auto KC enjoys spending time with her horses, and has a second job at the Assiniboia Downs.
Kjierstin Green
Kjierstin also known as “Boxy” around the store graduated in June 2024 from Warren Collegiate. She currently works part time at Big Block and you can find her smiling face at the front desk. She is enthusiastic and up for any task. When Kjierstin is not working she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, at the barn riding her horse and reading. Kjiersten is also a University student working on earning her Masters in Occupational Therapy.
Driver
Phillip Place
Phillip is a long-term employee, known around the shop for his Southern accent. He has an infectiously positive attitude, making a good impression on everyone he meets. On those rare days when Phil takes a day off, you can be guaranteed our suppliers will ask the fill-in driver where their American buddy is.
